Product Description
Fructus forsythiae is used medicinally. The taste is bitter and astringent. It contains saponins and the glycoside phillyrin. Phillyrin has been used as antipyretic.Usually prescribed as antipyretic and antiphlogistic in infectious fevers,suppurative inflammations, phlegmon, variola, erysipelas, measles. Dose, 5-10gm.
Function:
1.Clear heat and toxins.
2.Dissipates nodules - carbuncles and hot sores, neck lumps.
3.Expel wind-heat - fever, slight chills, sore throat, headache.
Indications: carbuncles, boils, lymphadenitis, mastitis, erysipelas; upper respiratory infection; febrile diseases at the early stage and at the stage with high fever,dire thirst, delirium and maculation; actue urinary infection.
